- I do provide data recovery services here in Trinidad. I am affilicated with a data recovery lab out of Toronto, Canada. I usually ship the hard drives (at customer cost) to the labs, and
once the evaluation is complete, I let the customer know what can/cannot be recovered, and the price for recovery. If at that time ALL the data that was agreed on was not recovered, there will be no cost to the customer. I can provide more details upon request. - GISCAD (http://www.giscad.co.tt) perhaps?
- My organisation was able to secure some maps of the south trinidad which were created with GIS. The map was very detailed, aerial.
Central Stats Office (CSO) also utilise such maps for the population reports and studies.
There are some very good maps available at Land and Surveys and CSO (maybe) but these are hard copies. We had requested this info in soft
copy but I cannot recall if we were able to secure these files from these Govt offices.
Unfortunately the GPS type info -which would need to be in the public domain is probably not available - similar to the turn by turn
directions available in the States for suitably outfitted vehicles or handheld GPS.
Did not know about GISCAD - looks very interesting. Actually I observed this panel van which stopped on the road outside my office
last month with the door open - a young man was holding a pole similar to the ones used by the road surveyors. The other young man in the
front seat was holding a device out the window. After a while they drove a little further up and did the same thing. Could be they were
taking readings of their positions? Maybe employees from this GISCAD place. Any one else observed this type of thing?
